Canadian Citizenship

Canada's Citizenship

Canadian Citizenship offers more privileges than permanent residency. Citizenship certificate is not a travel document, and you must get a Canada Passport to travel outside Canada. If you meet all the requirements for citizenship, you can take the citizenship test. Usually, within six months of passing the test you are invited to the oath taking ceremony for the Canadian citizenship pledging their commitment to the responsibilities and privileges of Canadian citizenship.
As a general rule, individuals with four years of permanent resident status during the preceding five years can qualify for Canadian citizenship
